Nigga I'm going full ORANGE.1. If you visit the Alamo, there is literally a Ripley’s Believe It! Or Not store right across the street from it. Seriously, just turn around, and there it is.
2. The Tower of the Americas was built for the 1968 World’s Fair, HemisFair ‘68. The top holds an observation deck, a restaurant, a gift shop, and the entire thing slowly rotates to provide a full view of the entire city.
3. San Antonio is pretty much geographically in the center of Texas, and it also sits in a natural bowl. It’s one of the reasons tornados hardly touch down in the city limits.
4. There is a SeaWorld there, it opened in April of 1988 as SeaWorld of Texas. It is now referred to as SeaWorld of San Antonio. I have met so many people that DON’T KNOW we have a SeaWorld that this fact is suddenly very relevant.
5. We have 2 loop roads. One is Interstate 410, simply called Loop 410 or 410, and is the inner loop. The other outer loop is Loop 1604, AKA the Death Loop. A lot of fatal accidents happen(ed) that gave that loop its nickname.
6. Except for 5 streets on the south side, the loops, and the highways, not a single street is numberical. They either have names, or the “numbers” are spelled out. We quite literally have a “First Street” and “Third Street” downtown as opposed to “1st Street” or “3rd Street”.
